Cary Ichinose brought his family and a few friends on a 3/4 day fishing charter and had a great trip, catching two really nice Ono and tagging and releasing a blue marlin all on a six-hour trip. We have been enjoying consistently good fishing the past few weeks here in Kona with good numbers of Ono, Shortbilled Spearfish, Blue Marlin and some very large Tuna in the 150 pound plus class. While Blue Marlin are found year-round here in Kona, the summer months of June through September are the peak fishing season in Kona for most pelagic species, providing anglers with a chance to catch multiple species.
