Kyle May and his family joined us this afternoon for a 4-hour fishing charter in Kona. The Tuna fishing has been really good the past few weeks and the bite was on again today. After landing a 130-pound Ahi Tuna earlier in the day on our 6-hour fishing charter, we headed back out and found the tuna rolling and busting bait on the surface.

Kyle managed to connect with this nice fish that weighed roughly 110 pounds and took some fresh filets home as well. While we encourage the tag and release of billfish, we are always happy for our client to keep their catch. We’ll even filet it for you.

One of the great things about fishing Kona is the very close proximity to the fishing grounds from the harbor. Because we can set up and be fishing in just 5-10 minutes after leaving the slip, catching a blue marlin or tuna on a short 4-hour fishing charter is very doable. It is also what makes Kona such a great value for sportfishing on the big island.

So if you are considering a trip to Hawaii in the near future, join us in Kona for a fishing charter, but be sure to book early to secure your preferred date and time. We currently book 1-2 months in advance, so check our current availability on our website and book online for our lowest available rates.

We hope to see you in Kona very soon.

Aloha,
