Hawaii Fishing Report for Kona – December 2010
December proved to be a strong month for fishing in Kona Hawaii. Seven blue marlin were weighed and one was tagged according to the Charter Desk. The largest blue marlin weighed in Kona was 1,011 lbs, followed by a 502.5 lb. blue marlin and a 490.5 lb blue marlin. In addition to the blue marlin, 16 yellow fin tuna were weighed in along with 15 short billed spearfish and one striped marlin.

Fishing Trip Reviews
My 13 year one son and I spent a half day trip with Jeff and Brett on Humdinger. First time deep sea fishing for us and though the fishing was slow, we really had a nice time. Fishing is not always catching, but the guys worked hard and in the end we landed a nice Mahi Mahi. Would certainly come back again. Thanks guys!

My friend and I had the privilege of going out on the Humdinger Sportfishing boat. It was the best fishing experiencing that I have ever had in my life. The crew was excellent by making sure that we had a great experience while we were on the Humdinger Sportfishing boat. My friend and I both caught 40 pound fish during the time that we were on the Humidinger Sportfishing boat, great day.

Our family of 6 spent a morning out with Jeff and Brett. Great crew! Although we didn’t have the best luck in the deep sea they made sure give us an extra hour of their time so that our kids could reel in a couple of fish each closer to shore. Great set up, great gear and we had an awesome time….. also saw dolphins and sharks. Thanks guys!

This was our first Blue Marlin fishing trip and so glad we booked with Humdinger Sportfishing! Captain Jeff and Brett were fantastic and worked hard to help ensure we had a great trip! We will definitely book another trip with them the next time we return to Kona!
