Bill Wolfendale joined us on a morning 6-Hour fishing charter in Kona and got lucky twice. Bill hooked up with a double header of Shortbilled Spearfish, the rarest of all Billfish species and the most sought-after species for anglers seeking a Billfish Grand Slam. Bill was lucky enough to catch not one, but two spearfish on his morning charter. We tagged and released the first of the two fish.
The fishing in Kona has been consistent the past few weeks with a mixed bag of species from Blue Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna (Ahi), Wahoo (Ono) and Shortbilled spearfish all being caught the past few weeks. June through September is the peak fishing season here in Kona for most of these species, and you never know what you might catch. If you are planning a trip to Kona this year, be sure to check our current availability on our website and book online for our lowest available rates. We are currently booking several months out, so book your fishing charters early to ensure you can reserve our most popular trips.
Hope to see you in Kona very soon.
