For most mariners and captains alike, bananas, or for the ultra superstitious, Banana products of any kind (Banana Boat Sunscreen, Banana muffins, you get the point) are just plain bad MoJo!!!   But not for the captain and crew of the Humdinger!  Hell, the boat is even painted Banana yellow.  In this video, deckahnd Henry “Butch” Chee Jr. demonstrates his super-secret, highly effective technique for chumming up big Blue Marlin with Bananas.  You better hang on when Henry starts peeling a Banana. We ain’t scared of no stinkin’ Bananas!

Fishing Trip Reviews

fishing charter reviews by Phillip DI had not been offshore fishing in decades and Captain Jeff made me feel so at ease and all that was before I caught a 300 lb marlin. It just got better after that. I cannot suggest a better day.

fishing charter reviews by thegman1975 RochesterFirst time deep=sea fishing and hooked a 150 lb yellow fin tuna! It was a struggle but with the help and encouragement from Capt Brett and first mate Ryan I was able to land the tuna that was as big as me! Only thing I would change would be not to get seasick after all that exertion. Next time I will stay hydrated and let my Dad do more of the work reeling in the big fish. Jack G

fishing charter reviews by ShortBait1966Had the chance to book a Kona fishing charter on our trip to the big island and was fortunate to find a half day charter on the Humdinger on short notice. Having done a lot of deep sea fishing on party boats, I wasnt sure what to expect on a private charter. We never fished far from shore, maybe a mile or two at the most. We caught a small blue marlin and a rare speafish and missed a mystery bite. All in all it was a great day and the crew was fantastic. I would highly recommend them.

fishing charter reviews by Thomas MMy two sons and I booked a charter in June with Captain Jeff and Brett. We got to the dock, they were ready to go, We started fishing almost immediately. My sons let me go first so when we hooked up with a marlin I got to reel him in. Really awesome. Unfortunately that was the only fish we hooked. No lack of trying though by captain and crew. Brett was nice and made us fell comfortable on his boat. I am not a expert deep see fisherman but when we hooked up, you could tell Jeff and son Brett knew exactly what to do and when to do it. We had a good time, I would recommend these guys.
